"Venghino siore e sioriiiii"

Oggi vi mostrerò una delle infinite applicazioni della matematica alla vita di tutti i giorni. Qualcosa che dimostra il motivo per cui conviene investire nella ricerca. Un gioco per impressionare i tuoi amici e le tue amiche¹! Quando la matematica è to(a)sta!

Situazione: siamo in 3 (o anche più...). E' rimasto un solo toast. Tutti e tre ne vogliono una parte. La STESSA PARTE (o perlomeno che siano tutte uguali). Urc... e come si fa?

Con la matematica, no? (e un pizzico di geometria).

Per prima cosa facciamo un'assunzione (cosa non da poco, in questi tempi di crisi). Diamo per valido che il toast sia quadrato. Questo è tanto meno vero quanto più il toast cuoce: i lati si curvano cuocendo e quindi nella realtà introdurremo un errore, ma credo si possa vivere lo stesso bene...

Andrebbe anche assunto che il toast sia omogeneo (!) e che lo spessore sia lo stesso in ogni punto, in modo che la sezione verticale sia uguale dappertutto. In questo modo invece del volume di ogni fetta mi posso occupare soltanto della superficie "superiore" o "inferiore". Però l'assunzione l'abbiamo già fatta... vedremo che si può fare.

Poi ci mettiamo un bel riferimento cartesiano (asse x ed y) con l'origine nell'angolo in basso a sinistra del toast. Si suppone che il lato del toast sia lungo A. Dopodiché si calcolano le aree delle tre fette e si mettono a sistema imponendo l'uguaglianza fra le loro aree e che la loro somma sia pari all'area del toast. Indico con F1, F2 ed F3 le fette e con Sf1, Sf2 ed Sf3 le loro rispettive superfici.

Ora cerchiamo le soluzioni.

For those Italians who don't masticate English too much (and drink it lesser) this precious product sounds like "Big Stupid You!" in a slang from the Tri-veneto.

This jewel, already patented - I would like to see... - have no market in Italy yet, so if someone is intersted, hands up!
